New products and solutions development

Our research and development activities aim to improve both environmental footprint during the production phase and our solutions’ energy efficiency, develop new materials that perfectly match our customers’ needs and redefine products boundaries and use.

Main innovative solutions launched on our Aalborg InWhite SolutionTM platform are:

  • Ultra high-performance concrete (UHPC)
  • Fibreglass reinforced concrete (GRC)
  • Magnetic concrete
  • 3D printing
InWhite Solution™ website: the engine of global innovation

Aalborg InWhite SolutionTM promotes high added-value and technologically advanced white cement-based solutions and applications.

There are unlimited possibilities for white cement usage. We want to challenge the traditional vision of this product as a purely aesthetic and architectural material to enhance versatility and potential in all fields of application, interpreting the trends and needs of the markets.

FUTURECEM™: the new sustainability frontier

We want more environmental-friendly and better performing products.

Thanks to its recipe and production process, FUTURECEMTM - our proprietary technology patented worldwide - allows a 30% CO2 emissions reduction in our cement thanks to a significant decrease in its clinker content.

The Group shall progressively use FUTURECEMTM technology to contribute to greater environmental sustainability.

The Innovation Consortium – Green Concrete II

The Innovation Consortium, often called Green Concrete II (is a research project managed by the Centre for Green Concrete of the Danish Technological Institute. The goal of the project is to develop a green concrete starting from a low clinker cement obtained by replacing clinker with limestone and calcined clay burnt at significantly lower temperatures than the current ones, with a 30% reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
The project is supported by Aalborg Portland and other partners including private companies, public institutions and knowledge centres that work closely together to create a platform for the transition to green cement and concrete production.
