Magnús Eyjólfsson (46) has been appointed new Managing Director of Aalborg Portland’s sales and distribution company in Iceland, effective 1 December 2017. Magnús has extensive experience in management and comes from a position as Sales and Marketing Manager at Ísfell ehf., where he was also a member of the executive board. During the last six years, Magnús has spearheaded the strategic planning, which has strengthened Ísfell’s growth significantly by increasing its product range and expanding the customer base. In addition, he has previously held positions as CFO at Gagnavarslan ehf. and Managing Director at Merking ehf.
Magnús will be responsible for the day to day management and operations of Aalborg Portland in Iceland. Here he will contribute to strengthening Aalborg Portland’s position on the Icelandic market. Magnús holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Iceland, while he has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from the Department of Industrial Marketing at the Technical School of Iceland (Reykjavík University).
Magnús was born and raised in Keflavík, Iceland, and currently resides in Seltjarnarnes, Iceland, with his wife and three children at the age of 13, 15 and 18 years. His leisure time is spent with family and friends, on travelling and on outdoor activities, where fishing and cycling in particular take up most of his time.
